Course Description

1. The program aims to meet the professional development needs of graduates with an interest in tourism and events and it is designed so that you can focus on areas of your special interest or undertake a broad-based program of study; 2. The specialist areas of study include tourism management and marketing, cultural heritage tourism, heritage tourism, sustainable tourism development, tourism and interpretation, and event design and management; 3. The general program of study allows you to choose topics to meet individual interests and needs, as well as topics relevant to a wide range of workplaces in the tourism and events industries; 4. The program aims to provide you with an increased level of theoretical knowledge, research skills and practical skills necessary for understanding issues and applying that knowledge in ways that match emerging trends and employment needs within the sector.

Entry Requirements

Academic Requirements 1. Applicant hold an approved bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in Tourism, Hospitality or a closely related discipline and have achieved a Flinders equivalent grade point average (GPA) of 5.00 or higher in the upper level topics in this degree, or 2. hold a Graduate Diploma in Tourism and Events or equivalent qualification and have achieved a Flinders equivalent grade point average (GPA) of 5.00 or higher in this qualification, or 3.hold an approved Honours degree or equivalent qualifcation in Tourism or closely related discipline.
